Central Locking Systems in Telford
Central locking is a chain — key fob, receiver, comfort/BCM, door modules and lock actuators — and a break anywhere stops it working. We diagnose locking faults from the key through to the actuator, whether it is a single dead lock, a global locking failure or a comfort system that won't let you in (or out).
Common Symptoms
If you are seeing any of the following, it points to a central locking systems issue we can diagnose:
- Central locking not working from the fob or the button
- One door won't lock or unlock
- Deadlock won't engage, or won't release
- Car locks itself or unlocks randomly
- Key fob not recognised, or works only at point-blank range
- Tailgate / boot lock not working
Common Causes
Faults like this rarely have a single cause. The usual culprits we find are:
- Failed lock actuator in a single door
- Door module or LIN-bus fault to that door
- Key fob battery, transmitter or receiver aerial fault
- Comfort / BCM coding lost after a module swap
- Broken wiring in the door hinge (very common from repeated opening)
How We Diagnose Central Locking Systems
01We test the key, receiver, comfort module, door module and actuator in turn.
02Door-hinge wiring is inspected — a classic cause of single-door faults.
03Replacement actuators and door modules are coded where required.
04Comfort-system coding is restored so global locking works again.
