Auto Electrical Repairs
ECU repair and replacement, module programming and electrical component work carried out at our Telford workshop using dealer-level tooling — not generic scan tools.
Symptoms We See
Modern vehicles run dozens of interconnected ECUs. When one fails or loses configuration, the symptoms can appear anywhere on the car. Common signs that point to an electrical or module-level fault include:
- Engine management, ABS, airbag or other warning lights staying on
- Non-start, crank-but-no-fire or intermittent starting issues
- Central locking, windows, wipers or headlights behaving erratically
- Faulty modules — BCM, SAM, ECU, instrument cluster or convenience systems
- Lost key coding, immobiliser or security system faults
- Warning messages, limp mode or electrical system shutdown
Our Diagnostic Approach
We don't just read a code and guess. Every electrical fault is investigated properly before any parts are condemned:
- Full module scan with dealer-level tooling (FDRS, ISTA, SDD, ODIS, XENTRY) to read every ECU, not just the engine
- Comparison of live data against expected values to isolate the failing component
- Visual inspection of connectors, earth points and wiring for corrosion, damage or water ingress
- Component-level testing — sensors, actuators, modules and power supplies — before any parts are replaced
- Clear explanation of what we've found and a clear recommendation before any work begins
What the Service Involves
ECU repair & replacement
Where a module has failed we can often repair it. If replacement is required, the new or second-hand unit is coded to your vehicle's VIN and configuration.
Module programming & coding
Programming of new and used modules to manufacturer procedures using FDRS, ISTA, SDD, ODIS and XENTRY — not generic scan tools.
Data transfer
Where a used module is being fitted, original configuration data can be transferred from the old unit so the replacement behaves exactly as the original did.
Feature coding & personalisation
Hidden feature activation, comfort settings and module personalisation carried out through proper manufacturer coding channels.
Your Next Steps
The more detail you can give us up front, the faster we can move. When you get in touch, it helps to include:
- Vehicle make, model, year and (if possible) VIN
- The symptoms you're seeing and when they happen
- Any warning lights or messages displayed
- Whether the fault is constant or intermittent
You can submit these details through our contact form or call us on 07484 521430.
