Alarm Systems in Telford
A vehicle alarm that goes off at 3am, or one that won't arm at all, is usually a sensor, siren or control-module fault rather than a real intrusion. We diagnose factory alarm systems properly — bonnet, interior and tilt/interior sensors, the siren with its own battery, and the alarm control module — so you are not left disconnecting it to get some sleep.
Common Symptoms
If you are seeing any of the following, it points to a alarm systems issue we can diagnose:
- Alarm triggering for no reason, especially at night
- Alarm won't arm, or won't disarm from the fob
- Siren sounding weak or not at all
- 'Alarm fault' or 'tamper' warning on the dash
- Alarm goes off after the battery was disconnected
- Interior sensors too sensitive, or not working at all
Common Causes
Faults like this rarely have a single cause. The usual culprits we find are:
- Faulty bonnet / door / tailgate sensor giving a false trigger
- Siren's own back-up battery failed (common after a few years)
- Interior ultrasonic or tilt sensor fault
- Alarm control module lost its coding after a battery event
- Water ingress in a sensor or the siren
How We Diagnose Alarm Systems
01We read the alarm module's event log to see exactly which sensor triggered.
02Each trigger sensor is tested individually rather than guessing.
03The siren and its back-up battery are checked, not just the main battery.
04Coding is restored after any battery or module event so the alarm arms correctly.
